February's issue of BMFA News features on the frontpage one of our junior members, Chloe.  The main feature of the frontpage links to "Celebrating 40 Years of Flight" a magazine item sent in by long standing member David Tappin.  See page 33 of the magazine

The magazine article describes how the club came to be 1973 and from a small flying area in a field to our present, excellent 3 acre site.

The story covers mainly our 40th Anniversary Event last Summer, 2013.  Members, their families and invited guests having a brilliant day relaxing in the warm sunshine, scale and fun flying.

Also, meeting past founding members, many who had lost touch with RC and were astounded on how far advanced RC flying had gone.

The lead paragraph says "It was food, flying and fun for the Wimborne Model Aero Club last summer as members,
their families and some very special guests celebrated the club's 40th anniversary on a lovely sunny day at their Cash moor flying site in Dorset."

From 1973 the club expanded, as finances allowed, from a simple mown circle of grass in the corner of a farm field, writes Social Secretary David Tappin.

Over the years our rented Cashmoor site in Dorset has been developed to three acres of closely mown grass with plenty of parking, a large club hut with adjacent metal container, a hard standing area with shade, solar panel  supported charging facilities and the all important loo.
