Bygone Days 2015

This annual event is now in it's 25th year of supporting local charities.  Over those long years the organisers have raised £250,000.  Sadly, this year is going to be the last Bygone Days.  Elaine and Campbell have achieved great success but consider it time to stand down.  Maybe someone else will take up the reins or find another venue locally, time will tell.

RC Bad Boys?

With the latest National and International news reporting careless or irresponsible flying of  drones or to be more precise, multicopters the latest craze being taken up by people all over the world, we would like to impress on members of the general public that RC Aero clubs whether fixed wing or helicopter take their hobby seriously and follow strict guidelines for safe flying.

There are responsible professional people using this equipment to work in the television, film industry and for surveys and agricultural purposes.  Then there are the keen amateurs enjoying this new pursuit whether FPV or just aerial photography but in a safe manner in non sensitive areas.  But as usual there are a minority who fly inconsiderately or in a totally wrong enviroment.  ie; near airports, large crowds with little or no experience and most likely no insurance. RAF Ibsley Revival 2015

Notice of Cancellation.  Thanks to the Bournemouth Air Festival moving their event forward so that it now clashes with this event, the organisers have had to take the difficult decision to postpone the plans for the time being. The RAF Ibsley Revival will therefore NOT be taking place this year although they are looking at alternative dates.

WimborneMAC have supported this event previously with a static display of warbirds and Flight Simulator. The event is held at Moyles Court School , formerly in wartime,  RAF Ibsely HQ, where time turned back to 1943 with everyone dressed as per the era, either in uniform or civvies and vintage cars and trucks.

Meanwhile, they will be exhibiting at Lyndhurst Community Centre on Saturday 25 April along with the Friends of the New Forest Airfields, where they will be running an exclusive Ibsley Flight Simulator – a virtual experience where you can ‘fly’ an aircraft of your choice over wartime Ibsley and beyond.
