Slim Gregory Fun Day 2015


Amazing.  Fanatastic.  Glorious.  Unbelievable.  That was the comments from members and guests to the annual Slim Gregory Fun Day.  With full sun, blue skies, a gentle breeze blowing down the runway and all coming together on the planned day.  What more could you ask for?  The annual Family Fun Day in memory of Slim Gregory, a past president of the club is a great day out for members and their families.  Full blown BBQ followed by an excellent array of naughty but nice gateaus.

Bygone Days 2015 Finale

This annual weekend extravaganca at South Gorley, near Fordingbridge on edge of the New Forest Hampshire ended it's 25 year run on a high.  Over the past 25 years the event has raised over £250,000 for local and National charities.  Elaine and Campbell who been the organisers and hosts of this regular New Forest event are standing down after 25 years and everyone there present gave a great applause for their efforts.

Bygone Days 2015


This annual event is now in it's 25th year of supporting local charities.  Over those long years the organisers have raised £250,000.  Sadly, this year is going to be the last Bygone Days.  Elaine and Campbell have achieved great success but consider it time to stand down.  Maybe someone else will take up the reins or find another venue locally, time will tell.

RC Bad Boys?

With the latest National and International news reporting careless or irresponsible flying of  drones or to be more precise, multicopters the latest craze being taken up by people all over the world, we would like to impress on members of the general public that RC Aero clubs whether fixed wing or helicopter take their hobby seriously and follow strict guidelines for safe flying.

There are responsible professional people using this equipment to work in the television, film industry and for surveys and agricultural purposes.  Then there are the keen amateurs enjoying this new pursuit whether FPV or just aerial photography but in a safe manner in non sensitive areas.  But as usual there are a minority who fly inconsiderately or in a totally wrong enviroment.  ie; near airports, large crowds with little or no experience and most likely no insurance. Any recorded footage they hope to be the first to post on the likes of YouTube, Facebook,etc.  Below are some examples of recent incidents from around the world.
