The British Model Flying Association (BMFA) arranges public liability insurance and personal accident insurance. This is all built in to their membership subscription. BMFA membership is mandatory.

Before continuing to complete this Application form we need to make you aware of the website links below.

From November 2019 it is a legal requirement that all RC models be registered with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) before you can fly any model aircraft or drone over 250gms.

To register with the CAA you will have to take a simple online safety awareness test.  If you are a member of the BMFA you can also take the test via their website.  See links below including CAA Privacy Notice.  The test itself is presently £9.00  At present we recommend using the CAA test as you will get your registration instantly. The BMFA may take some time to get your registration docments to you.  If you take the test using the BMFA website you will have to verify that you have read the CAA Privacy Notice and you agree to the BMFA sharing your data with the CAA.

WMAC Subscription Rates

  • Senior £88
  • Junior £18  (under 18 years as of 1st January of present year)
  • Non-flying £22 * (Non flyers have no need to use this form. Please contact the Membership Secretary directly)

BMFA Subscription Rates

  • Seniors £38
  • Junior £13

Subscription discounts of approximately 25% and 50% are available for those joining after June 30th and August 31st respectively. Please email the membership secretary simonosborne26@virginmedia.com to check the exact figure near to these dates above.

Note: £10.00 Admin Fee for New Members and for Renewal of  Membership after expiration date.
