Exhaust gasket material

Where's the best place to obtain exhaust gasket material. On looking into the cowl of my Sbach it would very much seem that the gasket has gone.
There seem to be a few types available and for different applications.....

It was suggested to me yesterday that cereal box cardboard does the job if cyano is used to seal the permeable side....? - will give this a go initially as need to get the sbach flying whilst the sukhoi heart is in at the menders....

I do this for years on cars, carb , thermostat housings,etc, etc. I used to use Kellogs cornflakes card, printed on one side and waxed the other, although card packaging has changed over the years, hence the suggestion of thin CA to seal it. Or, try your local garage and see if you can scrounge a bit of gasket sheet and cut your own out.

Dave, The exhaust temperature on high loads will be in the region of 500 to 700 degrees C, Cardboard is not any use for this you need a graphited impregnated material or soft alli even copper for high temps and loads, some exhaust use face to face joints with graphite grease because it is very hard to have a material that takes up the expansion, come and see me

I have used a couple of layers of ali cut from a drinks can, soft ali as Frank has suggested above, seems to work ok. Cuts easily with some sharp scissors.

I always add a smear of high temp silicone (from Halfords) or similar

Thanks Chris..... I made one this morning out of sheet brass. Will see how it holds up tomorrow. Also popped round to grandad Frank for some expert opinion on my 111's health. Thanks for the help Frank, much appreciated.
