Right.... I've had this chap now for nearly a year, it's about time I cracked on and got it ready to fly.
I had to wait until April to purchase the turbine (Wren160K) and have been accumulating all the various bits and bobs needed for the model's slight refurb.

The following needed doing:
  • Reinstall the nose gear doors and install new arms and associated servos (DONE). The doors also need respraying as previous owner landed nose wheel up on Tarmac.
  • make and hinge new third nose door (DONE)
  • source and install nose light to run off 11.1v (DONE)
  • reinstallation of all electronics
  • source pilot (DONE - homemade)
  • find an easy way to hinge and operate third outer main gear door (DONE)
  • source (DONE) and fit real strobe units
  • replace all wing servo extensions as previous owner had soldered multiple extensions (DONE)
  • replace tail and main gear door servos servos (DONE)
  • respray centreline pod
  • fit Powerbox SRS
  • decide on gyro (cortex or igyro
  • remove all traces of silicone! And make cockpit tub removable (DONE)
  • source pitot tube (DONE)
  • find suitable site for (re)maiden flight

Whilst I appreciate not all these points are necessary to flight, I would like it all sorted before hand.
I now have the Hawk stored back at my parents. Space has been cleared in the workshop (suk/sbach stored on wall brackets allowing room to work in this beasty)
I'm now happy to report that when time allows, I am pushing on an progressing with the above list! Photos to follow.......

I was thinking the same! Now! Which wire goes where? Image 6, that the old Hawk to compare with the newbie?

So your excuses will be: staying home to work on Hawk? ;)

A bit of a biggy project you've took on there. Still, should keep you out of trouble for some time!
