Nostalgia for the Boys was created by Phil Ford
Fascinated school boys at the local field? Pathe Movie clip. Don't let Mitch near them though...:whistle: Watch out for the Free flight and ready to run or duck.

It appears in most of these images that everyone had to wear a shirt and tie. A tie? Dangling garment near spinning props? Or did ties have a secondary purpose - wrap around cut fingers?

The Japanese guy, the world champion and his TX box thingy. No expo or rates, just switch like sticks.

A massive turnout of pilots and spectators too. Would put some of today's Fly-Ins to shame.

A tie? Dangling garment near spinning props?

Please note that in the picture of me pretending to start my trusty control liner in the garden of my parent's house my tie was safely stowed inside my pullover.

Well the pullover wouldn't fit any more but the trousers might !
