Need more Power

Hi all, i was trying to hover "Chloe's" new edge at the weekend, (with mixed results :silly: ) but noticed that when i throttled up to fly out of it the engine made more noise but did not appear to have the power to pull out, I had to push the nose down to fly out of it. Is this a simple case that the engine is not powerful enough or do i need to try a different prop??

Current Set - Extreme Flight Edge 540, 73" wingspan, DLE30 with tuned pipe, PT Carbon 19x8 prop

Could be a consequence of the tuned pipe being too short - loads of power at top end but a slump lower down?

You might improve it a bit with a bit less pitch which may give better acceleration, also with further experiments with pipe length, but I would bet you wouldn't see much improvement.

It was probably designed around the DA35 which I expect would be a fair bit stronger.

You should have gone 10 cell electric!!

Thought that might be the case , can't justify £500 for a DA35 so will just have to live with it for a while, then maybe replace with a DLE35

Chris, do you think 50cc would be too much for Chloe's plane? You've often said, you can never have enough power:

A few days ago there was DLA 35DA on the BMFA website - unrun for about £200 but i think its a rear exhaust
