Mini KeilKraft "Comet" was created by 4Pedalsfly
Having spent a lot of time learning about open tx and programming models
into the Taranis XD 9 transmitter I felt a bit of "Back to Basics" was needed.
Round about the age of 10 I had a lot of fun building and flying balsa chuck gliders,
so that's what I fancied going for.
Searching the web many options came up but I liked the KeilKraft " Comet" - 24 in
wingspan ,I found a suitable piece of 1/8 x 3 in sheet balsa for the wing but it was
too short so my "Comet" would be 16 in wingspan.
Pictures are attached showing the construction - test flight to follow at my local park,
3 pics below & 2 on next page

Colin.

Big decision now Colin - Is it within lockdown rules to visit the local park for trimming exercise ?

Your Comet took me back Colin. My first successful chuck glider was a Keil Kraft Polaris, it was trimmed to fly in left hand circles and was launched (chucked) up and with a lot of right hand bank. The flight pattern was a sort of "S" shape. I think it cost something like 2s3d or 1s9d,or am I confusing the price of the kit with the cost of a ticket to the pictures.

It also rather forcibly reminded me how old I am, it was the story of my lost youth! There was one thing I didn’t know about which was how the Ajax and Achilles got their names thanks to the sinking of the Admiral Graf Spee German pocket battleship.

Kevin - Hoping I should be o.k,
local park is a 10 min walk, the
model weighs 18g so exempt from Article 16 rules.
Park is popular with dog walkers,so main concern is one
may take a fancy to chewing balsa !
The KeilKraft plan was copywrited 1946, but do not know the reason for naming a chick glider "Comet"
Regards

Surely a mantra for us all...No flying near soft doggers.
