This picture shows the complex swing wing mechanism of the F14. It also had tailerons and spoilers for roll control (with wings forward), tailerons only for wings swept. Flaps and leading edge slats for landing and takeoff. The undercarriage is hydraulic operated and the doors, cockpit, speed brake and arrester hook are air operated. The twin Jet Munts Merlin 140 engines are fed by a total of six fuel tanks.
