I would second mikes opinion on the sensei.I have flown Simons model several times in different conditions and it flew really well. Its also really easy and predictable to land which is a confidence booster when learning.

I'd like to get the chance of flying the Wot4 FoamE and the Sensei on the same day and also to be able to fly them like I stole them (hint, hint). The Sensei is definitely the best trainer of the two, but by the time Jacob has his own model flying he might feel that he is beyond the 'trainer level' and I wonder if the Wot4 would suit him better.

Foam version are scarce at the moment but we stock the built up versions of the wot range and sell the electric conversion kits for them

Hi Simon, That is a really kind offer, I'm afraid Jacob can't go to Cashmoor on Saturday due to prior a engagement but I can bring him on Sunday if you and an instructor will be there?

On Sunday the field is booked for Wessex AML Awards and Fly-in although normal sport flying can be allowed subject to WAML schedule.

Ok, thanks for letting me know, we'll have to try and organise another weekend when I can bring Jacob. I will hopefully be able to give more notice next time as well!

Don't think Jacob will be missing much this weekend, really nasty Northerly cross wind at Cashmoor, better off staying at home in the warm!

A quick update. I was able to fly Simon's Sensei and Wooden Wot4 on Monday. The Sensei is a lot of fun and it would be possible to learn a lot of aerobatics with it. It's a very stable model and can be thrown around without too much worry. The Wot4 is a more powerful/faster model and also a lot of fun. Also able to learn a lot of aerobatics with it and it will do them more precisely. Being a heavier model it would cope with stronger winds too.
If either were to get broken (they will get broken...it's inevitable) the foam model would be quicker and easier to repair but will look 'repaired'. A bent foam model is also very difficult to straighten. The wooden model is more difficult to repair but can be made to look good afterwards with covering. A wooden model can be straightened during the repair too, so it will still fly 'true'
The Sensei is cheaper to set up then the Wot4. Simon gave a ball park figure of £150 for the Sensei with 3 batteries vs. £200 for the Wot4 with 3 batteries.

I hope this helps a little?
