Thinking what can I do with this now redundant 63mm 192kv motor sitting unused in the drawer. i need something to wrap around it. So here goes......The selected model is designed specifically for "gas" engines in the 30 - 40cc range but conversion should not be to much effort.

Mounting the X plate on to some spare DLE stand-offs. Then create a firewall drilling template. The stand-offs are loosely fitted but the machine screws will be "Loctited" when final alignment has been confirmed.

Engine box had to be modified with some cut-outs to allow for the large flat washers that even out the load when the machine screws are tightened up. Image 1

Lite-ply needed to make up some spacers for the prop drive to cowl clearance. Image 2

Speed controller in place. (Since then I have moved it underneath for better air flow and the space is most likely needed for the receiver batteries) Image 3

Checking prop drive face with cowl. Image 4

Photo shows new location of ESC. Image 1.

Image 2. Initial trial fit of 2 x 6 cell 5000 mah batteries to pre-check C of G before proceeding with planning adding the ancillaries. Even with these packs wieghing at 1600 grams it appears to want a 150 grams more up front to give a little nose-down on balance. Receiver packs then! The 6374 192 kv motor weighs in at 920g which is 200g less than the DLE engine.

I was hoping to use 2 x 5 cell 5000 mah 30C packs but they would not be heavy enough. Worry about that later . May stick with packs I have already rather than splash out more cash for even more batteries.;)

Top hatch now glued in position. Image 3. The engine box will be glassed later.

Receiver located and servos connected to verify travel. Image 4.

What is it? Pilot RC Extra 300 24%

Waiting on seeing Jon to try some props so I can measure amps and thrust. A nice light prop in the 21x 12 range I think, maybe, possibly, don't know. Tried a Biela 18x8W and the motor didn't even know it had a prop...
