Some new 5 cell 5000 maH Lipos turned up on Monday, went to charge them up and found out my leisure battery has died. Off to Motabitz for another 45 amp/hr battery. After charging them up fully, gave the Extra the much anticipated power up test. Swinging an 21x10 Xoar E prop I had 3000 watts at around 7000 rpm. Nearly 4 hp. Next concern was the lighter 2 x 5 cell packs might not be heavy enough to help with CG. As it happens it appears that with 3000 maH receiver Lipo pack just behind the wing tube the plane is just slightly nose down. The need to use my heavier 2 x 6 cell packs is not necessarily required after all. (I did not want nearly 4000 watts anyway ) The 5 cell packs will also reduce the AUW by nearly 0.5 kg making the Extra about 6 kg.
