Christchurch & District annual fly in

Popped over to their field near Lymington on Sat AM . Mike Roach flew his lovely Saunders Roe Princess which is designed on Ivan Pettingrew ultra light construction methods. All six motors rum from one battery of approx 5000mA. Despite several years of successful operation the fin spar failed on this flight and only his brilliant flying ability reduced the landing damage to a minimum. Many of you will remember Mike & Trevor Hewson's presentation at one WMAC club night.

Hi Kevin - Their presentation was very professional - quite a good double act " Trev & Mike".
Comments were made on the lightness of the construction particular the fuselage & I
recall Mike saying it was o.k since the load was well spread over the fuselage when in
the water.
No doubt he had sufficient margin in hand to risk landing on grass.
