Any suggestions from engine experts out there.
Having problems with fuel tank installation. Not much space to fit tank and fuel feed pipe seems to keep kinking. Have tried longer pipe to smooth out routing but still kinks where it attaches to brass pipe. How long can I go with fuel feed pipe ? Should I try shaping some brass tube then attach fuel pipe to stop kink or is thicker walled fuel pipe a better way to go.
Also when engine is running with tank in temporary position the fuel feed tube is full of air bubbles as engine draws petrol through,is there a way to stop this or will it not cause a problem ?

I would think that using a longer brass tube and bending it where it comes out of the tank would be your best option to avoid the kink.

Is the fuel foaming from vibration, causing the air bubbles? If so a felt clunk should help you.

Sure it's not drawing air from somewhere?

Sorry if i'm teaching you how to 'boil and egg" but in order to avoid kinking the brass tube, If you don't have a bending guide - Cyno 2/3 washers to the exact width of the tube - squeeze in the vice jaws as a guide. Heat tube to just red and quench to anneal the tube and it should bend easy.

Simon, if you decide to bend brass tube, I have a set of bending springs you can borrow. Fits on outside of tube, then apply bend, then pull bent pipe out of spring.

Simples!
