Hi Phil,
Few things.... that little Hawk was entirely flyable! You just didn’t! :-)
The engine is a West 36 t1 with throttle pipe. It’s designed for aerobatic and good throttle response not to have its nads revved off, that’s the V1 range which are suited to high rpm which is why they’re used for the magnum.
You refer to a cougar, that was a fun fly airframe designed by Weston uk.
I can’t remember what I was funding at the time :-)
I don’t recall what the DLE 55 came out of.... possibly the Sbach but I was sure I had a DA in that.
Anyway, stick it in something little, light and fun fly- ee.

Not sure what it was funding. The first big Hawk wasn’t until 2014. First turbine was 2005!
