Funnily enough the noise didn't worry me at the time (it will do in future!) it was the black exhaust goo that triggered my concern.
A lot of work and running about for what is a write-off for your 46, Alan.
I've never stripped an engine before so it's been a useful learning experience. If I can get hold of a piston and liner in reasonable condition for cheap I'll put it back together. Other than that it's a write off.
I suggest you purchase "as new" OS 46 from me and get into the air asap..

Thanks for the heads up Phil but I've already taken delivery of a new SC 46. I'm a glutton for punishment :ohmy:
