That engine sounds a bit sick! ...

Funnily enough the noise didn't worry me at the time (it will do in future!) it was the black exhaust goo that triggered my concern.

A lot of work and running about for what is a write-off for your 46, Alan.

I've never stripped an engine before so it's been a useful learning experience. If I can get hold of a piston and liner in reasonable condition for cheap I'll put it back together. Other than that it's a write off.

I suggest you purchase "as new" OS 46 from me and get into the air asap..

Alan - When I was running Laser 4 Strokes I found the following very good value :

ARB Bearings - Unit B14 - 9 Nimrod Way, Ferndown Ind Est - BH21 7SH - tel 01202 862730.

For cash the prices were better !!

Thanks for that Colin. I just had a quick look at their website and they seem to have what I need if I ever go ahead with the rebuild. They're not far from me so it's worth knowing they are there.
