Wire Bending was created by Phil Ford
Is there anywhere local that supplies and bends 4 gauge (5.2mm) steel wire? I have spoken to SLEC regarding Chipmunk but they are extremely busy at present and cannot guarantee when Chris can make me up another set of gear.

I have got a new set for from the Pepsi to act as a pattern/template because the angles need to be spot on.

Thanks for the info John. 7/32 = 5.55 whereas the original 4 gauge = 5.189 (round it up to 5.2mm). The latter wire fits very neatly in the wing gear sockets already so really want to avoid drilling out a tiny bit more. However, 7/32 may be a fallback plan.

Tried bending this wire before in a vice - it doesn't work very well. Really need the proper bending tool for those sharp right angles too.

Phil - Maybe worth putting an enquiry on the BMFA site, some scale types probably have
the kit for wire bending. Not sure at what point Wire becomes Rod.

4 swg (Standard Wire Gauge) is 5.89mm diameter.

Maybe that's where the guy at SLEC got it from Phil!

Thanks Guys. I think I got confused earlier with diameters, I think I was looking at AWG instead of SWG. Now it is as clear as mud.
