Logic EC5 connectors was created by Simonosborne53
: :( Having had no experience of these connectors, I'm baffled as to how you instal the metal connectors into the accompanying plastic housing they are designed to fit. Any guys.
Thank you.

if i remember correctly, you solder the connectors and then push them in from the top, until they lock in place

A good fine screwdriver is an absolute necessity. Make sure that they are really locked home. Originally had trouble with EC3's that appeared locked, but weren't.

While on the subject of soldering loose pins - I find the Hobbyking "Mr grippy jig" extremely useful and it doesn't sap the heat which metal pliers do in the you-tube clip.

Its currently in stock at the uk warehouse and qualifies for the < 200g postage

While on the subject of soldering connectors, what soldering irons, tips and wattage are your preferring?

I'm generally using a 25W Antex with a chisel tip and 60/40 solder. But sometimes feel it's taking a while to get the heat into something like a 5.5mm connector.

I nearly posted a comment about soldering irons earlier when I saw the inappropriate tip being used in the video.
My 'go to' iron for connectors is a 75W with a 10mm chisel tip.
