Fuel? Cost? No problem if Dubai are funding it.

Brilliant pictures. 4 x 40kg thrust turbines = 160kg of push so I would imagine 1 to 1 power to weight ratio. Notice how the Alpha jets are half flaps down so they can fly slow enough ;)

It's not just the fuel which is expensive. How to make something very big into lots of small pieces by forgetting how hard the fin and rudder work in knife edge flight.

What a shame. Gutted is only a small word. Fin broke off but the front end broke away at the same time? Airframe stress?

Horrid and fascinating at the same time. The model broke up so quickly it was hard to see what caused it all. The fin broke off then the model seemed to disintegrate. I wonder what the "experts" were looking for when they tested the airframe prior to issuing a permit to fly?

I love to see big models and admire the commitment and huge finances, Saying that I think at some stage you have to say to your self enough is enough. I have seen a few large 80% size models fly and and to be honest wast it worth it??
