RusJet - Mig-29

They reckon their new Mig is better than the Yac!



I admire the dedication and the enormity of the work involved to do something like this and the scale detailing is amazing... but it must take some nerve to fly it!

The MIG-29 is an undoubted masterpiece. This massive twin JetCat P100 powered model was so close to scale, thanks to laser scanning of the full size aircraft to which he was given access, that several “secret list” details are exposed. Vitaly was obliged to sign an agreement that he would never sell it subject to the threat of a very expensive legal action should he do so! Details of its design and construction are well documented, extensive use of carbon fibre injection moulded components helped to keep the weight well inside the 20kg limit. Vitaly confided in me that he will never attempt another effort of this magnitude. He recognises that his success may have played a part in the the dwindling interest in entering the JWM. An excuse for their non appearance at this year's event levelled by teams from the USA, The Netherlands and UK which may now no longer be valid!
