Ripmax - "Spitfire" was created by 4Pedalsfly
This kit was acquired from a fellow club member in June of last year.
It was released by Ripmax in January 2007 based on a design by Pete Nicholson
who owned Balsacraft, designed for canned brushed motors & NiCad batteries
so a few mods were required to suit a Brushless motor & LiPos.
Model is now finished and I thought I would share the " assembly" process.

Colin.

Last three pics - Fiddly bits, cowl fitted, cockpit canopy painted & pilot installed, poor chap
lost a lot of his lower body to fit in.

Assembly was spread over several months, just got round to putting it onto the site.

Now awaiting reopening of Cashmoor for the maiden flight, this will be off a dolly as per the "Mustang"

A few statistics on the model:

Wingspan - 48 in, weight - 3ibs, motor Propdrive "35" - 35-36, 910 kv. , Hacker 40 A esc , all servos Hitec HS82MG,
Prop 10 x 6 APC , Current draw 31A from 4S - 2,200 LiPo giving 480 Watts = 160 W/ Ib .
Same set up as my Ripmax "Mustang" which works very well.

Colin.

Colin, did you not remember the article I wrote (Ripmax Mustang) quite a long time ago on the mods for brushless motors. wimbornemac.org/articles/projects/57-ripmax-mustang-600-ep
Back in 2011. Flippin' hell. Where does time go. :( Still got that damn Mustang too.

Phil - Thanks for reference - I joined the club in March 2012 so not aware of it.
Interesting to read you later went to 4 cell on your "Mustang".
