DSX9 Roller

I know it is 9 years old so expected. My DSX9 roller selector is losing it's springy feel making it fiddly to select menus/models. Can it be bought as a spare part or send it in somewhere for repair? In the meantime I am going to copy all the model settings across on to my DSX11 just in case. A bit of a pain as I will have to rebind a lot of models.

Mike has got back to me very quickly. The rotary switch and tactile switch can be replaced but if the roller is damaged then it will be a problem. I personally don't think the roller is duff. Today I had to be very very light on the Roller to change models or settings because the spring is virtually lifeless, the latter I believe is the Tactile switch. Of course no-one knows till Mike checks it out. Possibly drop it in next week. In the meantime I will copy all my models over to the DSX11 just in case.

If the modified roller turns out to be your only option, i'm sure that chap in BoS could assist !

Phil. I had the same issue with my sons DX9. I brought a complete roller on a pcb board from Horizon Hobby. Very easy to change yourself and not expensive.

Thanks. I will see what Mike can do first. I don't think it's the roller just the tactile switch underneath it. To change models I have to use my finger nail to gently rotate the roller but it works but it takes a bit longer to change menus/models.
Have manually copied all my models/rates/expo on to the DSX11 although some have custom mixes which I will discover after binding later on.

By chance after visiting your link I spied a virtually new DSX9 MkII with RX and charger and box. Seller wanted £235 at starting point. No chance! No bids so far and one day left. thought about making an offer for it for spare parts. I got my DSX11 with RD921 and three sats via BMFA classifieds for £150 delivered.

Took the DSX9 to Mike's place on Tuesday morning. Tactile switch board which includes the multi-selector needed replacing. Ready for use again today, Wednesday morning. While over there had a chat about all things RC electronics, very interesting and informative. He will always check TX performance too as a matter of course.

Now if the weather plays ball.............
