JR Powersafe Receiver was created by Chris73
After today's flying session I charged my receiver batteries, one pack took almost 2000mah and the other pack was still fully charged, normally they are within a 100mah of each other as the receiver is supposed to pull equally from both packs

Set up is JR powersafe receiver and two 2 cell 5000mah lipo's , any ideas why this would be???

if you unplug the battery that was being discharged does the rx still work?

what if you swap the batteries in the rx and leave it on, wiggle it for 30mins (or servo test mode on TX) does the same pack become discharged?

if you have a ammeter you could measure the current being pulled. It is looking probable that there is an issue with the rx.

+1 What Ade said.

Sounds likely that you have a receiver fault, you will only know by testing each input as suggested. Stupid question, but is there any chance the pack that didn't discharge wasn't properly connected?

Pretty sure the pack was connected as this is the second time it has done it, I am using a deans to EC5 adaptor. As most of you know my soldering is not the best, but Mike has kindly agreed to give me a soldering lesson, so I will change all of the connectors so I can eliminate the adaptor. Then I will try what has been suggested and see how it goes, hopefully it is just the adaptor that has failed because the receiver wasn't exactly cheap :(

its kinda a process of elimination, plugging one pack in to each port and seeing if it works, then plug the other pack in to each port swapping adapter cables.

by using each combination you can then work out exactly which component is buggered.

then bin that component and never have it darken a model ever again :-)

How old is it Chris, MacGregor should cover it under warranty if it is faulty.
