I really miss the X fighter (aka Flying Dildo) so thought it time to make a new one, sort of. Based on the JP Si wing I am going to cut out some lite ply for the fuselage and formers. The question is - what sort of pusher motor angle in degrees? I was thinking 3 degrees up from wing centre line. Side thrust angle nil?

Hi Phil, if your drawing is the right way up, the motor has upthrust. It should be angled three degrees the other way, with no side thrust. The set-up works OK on my Raven flying wing..
Thanks Brian. In my earlier versions of powered wings I think i had the motor angled the same as the slope of the wing.
The reason I thought it may need upthrust is my high wing UAV is a pusher which has 2 deg upthrust which is not enough, makers error, and therefore I have ordered a 3D printed version motor mount which gives 6 deg up and 2 deg side which will hopefully stop nose down on applying throttle as many users have reported.
