Visit to Bournemouth Scout Group

I have received the following from Liz Kimber at the Bournemouth Scout Group.

Hi, I was wondering if the club would be willing/able to bring model aircraft to our scout group meeting and talk to the young people about them? They have requested to do their RAF Air Researcher badge and part of the process is to learn about historical aircraft.

Please could you let me know if this is something you are likely to be able to do? We meet on a Tuesday evening in Wallisdown between 7.30pm and 9pm.

If we have anyone willing and/or able please let me know and I will then get back in touch with Liz to let her know if it is a yes or a no.

I have contacted her asking for more information on the type of aircraft. Waiting on reply Colin.

Having taken the Longham Scout group through the same process with the air experience day at Cashmoor, talks to them and the building and flying experience and if the members who have already been involved in this are still committed we should be able to repeat the dose. It would be worth putting Liz Kimber in touch with Daniel or John Goodliffe who run the LSG, their opinion would probably be useful to her. I have all their contact details.

That would be a good idea and saves a lot of to's & fro's

I have had a reply from Bournemouth Scouts. Provisionally the first date required is 13th November. She has said historic aircraft from WWII and onwards. Actual models on demo and members to give a talk on where, when and why it was built, it's characteristics, engines, problems etc.

I have asked about this certain achievement badge but it may not be the same as the Longham badge so have asked for confirmation either way.

Edit: David T is going to verify the actual badge/s they are attempting to complete.
