That's nothing Jeff compared with what he usually gets...

Back to the issue, I believe the rule of thumb was that the air flow exit size at least twice the air flow in but not always so easy in practice. Scale models the worst I think because you just cannot hack holes where needed or it ruin it's looks.

 Another roasting for poor Dave. I am "baffled" as to why Dave gets reminded of "classic fails"

Speaking of baffles Jon, would foam board cope glued into a grp baffle. I think you said it was fine.

I have used card faced foam board for baffling around flat twins and it's fine, I'm not certain it would be as good for a radial baffle as the air would be hitting it on its flat face, so may not be strong enough to cope with the pressure

I remember reading an article by Brian Winch about the Saito engines in which he emphasised the need to cool the crankcase. Note that the FG 84 & 90 have additional cooling fins attached to the crankcase in between the cylinders for good reason. So a simple flat baffle might not be ideal. This link has some useful info on Saito baffle construction. note that provision is made to cool the crankcase fins.

Thanks Kevin, I saw that article and like you say the larger engines have those cooling fins on the crankcase. Not sure if similar is required on the 60. Pictures are where I’m at up to now.

Looks good Jeff but you need to open up in front of the crankcase heat sinks as well.

Saved yourself 25 quid as we'll :)

Thanks Jon. But the 60 doesn’t have those heat sinks on it
