I would go with a twin, but agree that a 40 may not be up to scratch. Try this one, it is really small...

Thank you all for your input. I thought the 40 was little small but would've fitted neatly inside the cowl. The 55 is popular and as been previously said, it's easy to fit and a good all rounder. Exhaust muffler is bog admittedly so may have find a better version to fit behind the motor. There is no provision for a canister in this model.

DLE55RA it will be then.... :)

Jon, I am copying the RADIO SET UP over to a new thread so those who may follow later can use it for reference including me....

Phil

If it is of interest there is a DLE 55 just come up for sale on the High Alpha website, just under 5 gallons through it and fitted with Bowmans rings, £170 plus postage. It is being sold by one of the IMAC guys who I know fairly well and know he looks after his stuff.

:cheer: Jon, I have had a look but it is the side exhaust version. Which means in my case fitting a side muffler of some description. Also, HA have been under attack by spammers so joining their Forum is a bit restricted at present.

Jon, I have sent you a PM...

Tank tray cut out to fit between ribs and slotted for tank straps. Radio gear installed, stabilisers fitted, rudder pull pull done, the latter a fiddle-ass job....

Cannot do much more until an engine is located and some wheels / axles turn up. For spats I am using Beast 100CC. And they were only £22 a pair. Repaint needed to suit.

Thanks Pete. :) It's down to measurements and calculation as the H9 Cap manual will not be much use from now on.

Just slightly off subject, my dear wife  says I can keep the Cap232 in the kitchen/diner whilst I am working on it. That is ruddy amazing. :woohoo: She is concerned though on where it will live after building - I don't know either. Some things in hangar will have to go.... :(

If I get bored I can always start sasembling the Wots Wot ;)

Wheels, axles and rudder tiller finally turned up to today so time to fit tail wheel assembly and main wheels and slightly modify H9 Beast 100cc Spats to fit the landing gear. Yes, I know they are the wrong colour ;) so tomorrow I'll wet n dry them ans spray them with Vauxhall Glacier white as base colour.

Dry fitted cowl to mark fixing bolt holes but cannot do any more until the engine is fitted.

Wings were trial fitted and looks like a Friday night job in China. Left wing's two locating dowels where not square. Had to drill out and replace and refit metal sleeves. :(

Wing tube is a neat fit in fuselage but in the left wing it is very very tight. The 1 inch tube is ally painted in black with cork inside. I have tried to wet-n-dry the paint down to no avail so far. I reckon a carbon tube of 25mm by 750mm long would be a good replacement if I could find where to get one!

Ignition switch and failsafe main power switch also fitted

Considering my temporary disability I am pleased with my progress so far. :) Could not bear being bored!

Phil,

Good to hear that you're progressing well. Re carbon tube, have you tried:

www.carbonology.com/carbon-fibre-tubes-p...sh-tube-c-64_76.html

The problem may be their minimum quantities, you could end up with a long one. Mr Bright, no funny remarks please.
