Phase 5 by Chris Foss

Interesting that, like me, both Chris and Jon have a passing interest in hair products. In all three cases "passing" is just the right word.

We tested the air with a couple of electric gliders and although they stayed up we did use the motors to help from time to time. So I gave the Phase 5 a couple of test glides in order to set the elevator trim and when I launched over the slope the wind was about 9mph. I was expecting a quick circuit and land, but to my surprise it went up. Even in these light conditions I was able to do loops, rolls, stall turns, cuban 8's and so on. The roll is very axial and the Phase 5 maintains speed well throughout. I'm looking forward to trying it in a good breeze now.

It was great to see the Phase 5 fly, I shot a little video, but managed to miss the loops and Cuban 8's so you'll all just have to take my word for it that they were impeccable

The UK summer has finally provided some wind to put the Phase 5 through its paces. Apologies for the wind noise and unedited video clip. I've only just got the video camera and learning how to edit and add a sound track will come later.

Is the camera attached to your cap visor? and what sort of wind speed was the Phase 5 flying in, and what are your impressions now that you've had a good number of flights on it?
