What is a suitable Glider for flying from Cashmoor

For some time now I have fancied a Glider, and one that is suitable for throwing in the air from the likes of Cashmoor.

I am after something which can offer decent long flight times (as long as the wind/thermals play fair), and is more than suitable for a non-demanding pilot! After way too many hours on tinternet a good all-round starter package seems to be one of these?

Dear James - It's a bit like asking 3 economists for a forecast, you will get 5 opinions.

Here's my two penneth :

The Parkzone " Radian Pro " should give you what you want - just google Radian Pro and there are
lots of reviews and comment out there.

In Australia they run a "Radian" souring league, try spotting yours with another 11 in the sky!

They used to market the Radian which is elevator, rudder and motor only but that was replaced
by the Radian Pro which has ailerons.

I also belong to another flying group and I taught an older guy to fly on a Radian, it's very forgiving and will float lazily around the sky even in bouyant air, the standard powertrain gives
a good rate of climb and you can be quickly up to over 700 feet.

The model is still giving good service 4 years on.

I have flown the Art Tech Diamond 2500 with the standard powertrain using a 4 cell lipo.
Quite honestly the climb rate was poor and performed poorly even in conditions of reasonable lift.
That's a thumbs down from me on that one.

I have not flown a Radian Pro but they do seem to fly nicely and the price is good.

You could also consider the Multiplex Solius. A bit more expensive but arguably a much better model. I haven't flown one but all the reports would indicate that it is better than the Easyglider (which I do have) and I would consider the Radian Pro and the Easyglider to be 'similar' in performance.

I have one and it is P-N-P. Not exactly a thermaller but I have had some good flights with it. Only needs an 1800maH Lipo and a RX.

And good value form HobbyKing. Make sure you order it on the UK warehouse website. Price is still in dollars but Paypal or whatever convert it GBP. About $117 I think. It was well less than £100 when I bought it 5 months ago.

I agree with 4 Pedals Fly. I own a Radian Pro and I am looking forward to fly it for the first time,this Saturday at Cashmoor, if all goes well. I choose this glider after lots of research and I am sure I will not be disappointed.

Ah yes I forgot to say, the place I ordered it from never replenished their stock, so after 8 weeks of waiting I think it was I cancelled the order.....still want one though.

James - You are a patient person - after a week I would have been jumping up & down.
