Thanks i will bear in mind, i have a similar problem with a T28 cant make take off speed on grass( it seems common with tricycle gear) i converted it to a tail dragger now its ok ,not really an option for vixen

Stuart - Re the HobbyKing Vampire - I've seen one of these flown regulary.
Maiden flight was attempted off short grass but it just sat there making a whinning sound
and going nowhere.
Goes off o.k from a hand launch but having a fatish body is not an easy launch, best done by a friend.
With this model it would appear the best option is to save some weight by removing the retractable undercarriage
and settle for hand launching.

I know the one you mean. I intend leaving the u/c in position as, having the wells filled in makes the model more difficult to launch. I spoke about it at scale day.
