Taft Valkyrie 90mm

Decided to have a good look over my new secondhand EDF jet as my left knee is playing up so cannot walk very far at all. Tried to figure out the connections on the board but some pins are missing. Stripped out the connector board and sequencer, the latter in my opinion not very good and not programmable. (Both are not favoured by seasoned EDF pilots on RC forums). Rewired some of the servo leads so they reach the RX which will sit where the sequencer use to reside.

Having already part programmed an FrSky S8R for it some time ago I plugged in the receiver and set the rudder and elevator surfaces up with rates. Gyro also now working. Using the wonders of Open TX I have set up a sequence for the gear doors and landing gear and timed them to suit me.

Now my favourite job, NOT, making up servo leads and crimping pins.

All that space available after discarding plug in boards and sequencer.

Next job is to hinge ailerons at least with robart pin hinges - they appear to be cracking on the foamy hinge line.

What with so much Rugger on TV today not much done to the EDF.

Cut off ailerons and re-installed with Robart hinges. Elevator/Rudder are still looking good so have "Blenderm" these for backup.

Gave up crimping new pins on leads by the way. Seem to have lost my touch there too. Everything is now direct wired to RX. Wing JST connectors are colour coded (nail varnish) to aid plugging in.

Why of course not! But with so many fast drying, hard wearing colours to choose from and a little brush to apply why not. Just the job. Wife says they are expensive little pots and my reply is "not as much as my aeroplanes if something is not plugged in"
