Hunter flight report

Me too - but I ordered the u/c lower oleo bit from the ever reliable (not) Modellbauuk website. Part not delivered yet despite being advertised in-stock when I placed the order and next day delivery promise, and I only get an answerphone message whenever I call.
Has anyone else had problems with this supplier (I had a similar issues last time I used them and vowed never to again but they were the only site claiming to have the part on the shelf).

Re-maiden has been delayed. Ripmax can't supply the oleo parts at the moment. I have even tried Mick Reeves and he says Ripmax won't sell the Hunter under gear to him. I may have to splash out on a complete pair of mains oleos (luckily still not silly money yet) or look at getting a professional aluminium weld and reinforcement job done on the duff one (last resort).

That's frustrating John, so much for it being in stock

John - Maybe worth popping a " Wanted" ad on the BMFA website, you never know you may
strike lucky.

Its getting the norm with a lot of the online model suppliers saying parts are in stock which make them look good against other suppliers.What they should be saying is yes it's "hub stock"but it will take a few days.

This is the part I am looking for - not an easy job to fabricate one without decent milling and turning facilities (Frank we miss you).
I have drawn on the fracture line - so if anyone knows an aluminium welder who could bring it back to life, please post...

I used a engineering company just down the road from me recently to weld my exhaust header.
Not sure if they do all types of welding but worth a try .

Thanks David - Interestingly, a guy was looking for Ripmax Hunter bits & got sorted.
On the downside another guy ordered spares from Ripmax 3 months ago & is still waiting!

Hi John - I use a guy in Christchurch industrial estate - Robert Rickman of Precise Sheet Metals (he bought Franks lathe) - mention me. He may require you to fabricate a simple jig such as a piece of angle iron with two studs at 90deg to hold it all square and prevent distortion.
