Sukhoi rebuild was created by flyingpete
At first glance the damage appears minor.Started to strip the ora covering around the damaged area and the full extent can be seen.As the Suk took a frontal impact the ply has delaminated in most areas.
If good old birch ply had been used it would have been a different story,but these Artf's we buy from China are built very light and will not sustain any sort of impact,also the choice of glue and ply they use is hmmmmmmm??
Anyway will get some more pics up later once I have made up a cutting list.

Looking at that photo, it might have been a good thing that the F1 ply failed, it might have avoided more time consuming repairs had the whole motor box collapsed. Having recently rebuilt one I know how much work that is!

Trouble is Jon the ply on all four sides of the motor box have delaminated past the first cowl ring and into the u/c supports.The ply used is really crap, reminds me of the low grade ply they used to make tea chests from.

Horizon aka Hangar 9 really skimping nowadays. And on large scale stuff too! :(
