If the hole in the control horn is 1/2 inch in front of the horn screw, yes. This will make the hole line up with the hinge line for the best linkage geometry.

Thanks for confirming Mike. The ball link hole does line up with hinge line. I asked for confirmation as the holes were already drilled at factory and I did not want disimilar geometry. This model has no manual and quite a few bits missing but I found that the Hangar 9 Cap232 manual (model discontinued in 2010) is very similar so following some of the build sequence.

So, do I glue control screw or not into control surface?

Hope the recovery is proceeding well.

I asume you are talking about the horn type with a plastic triangular base with a plate on the other side? If you are, for added security, I normally remove some of the film below the base plate, stick a pin or knife blade point into the surface of the exposed wood to create small holes, then partly assemble the horn with the screws, then before fully tightening down, soak it in thin cyano then quickly tighten the screws. This reinforces the wood, bonds the base to the surface and locks the srews all in one go.

I have stepped up the game now regarding new aquisitions. :lol: I am talking M4 HD control horns and rudder dual horns. In the Hangar 9 CAP232 50CC manual, it says epoxy screw and then thread lock the securing nut. I am just enquiring wether it is really necessary to glue screw. I would've thought some thin CA in the hole to harden the surrounding balsa would suffice.

Those are good horns, I would still do similar to what I posted earlier, assemble on the control surface, wick in thin cyano then immediately tighten, it won't be going anywhere!
