A few years back we enjoyed a holiday in Limassol - Cyprus and visited the flying site of the Limassol Model Aeroclub. Their site is located near Lady Mile Beach on the Limassol Salt Lake which is near to R.A.F Akrotiri. A bus ride got us near to the beach and the delightful Captains Cabin ( Pic C1 ) from which it was about a 30 min walk to the flying site (Pic C2)
Temperatures in Cyprus range from 6 degrees winter to 33 summer, we were there in April when it was 23 degrees.
The permanent structure is there to protect models and members from the Sun.
That day there were some jet fliers visiting from the Nicosia Aeromodelling Club ( Pic C3 )
Post flight checks (Pic C4 ), with such a large flat area to fly from there was no problem locating models
landing out ( Pic C5 ), no searching in the oil seed rape crop.
Most enjoyable day chatting to fellow modellers.
