I don't like the washing up liquid method. I was told 'a few drops' and found that what was really needed was 'a few molecules' of washing up liquid. I always apply decals dry...much easier

I take you point Mike, but it does need a skilful approach to position decals "dry". I've used the "wet" method since I watched the windows in our electronics section being covered in tinted film. I think the advantage of the wet approach is that the decal can be eased where needed to remove wrinkles and even be lifted off and re-positioned. Its like a lot of modelling tips and tricks, its a case of using the one that you're comfortable with.

Google "dry hinge method". There's really not that much skill needed
