Baffle or no baffle, that is the question

I think it's definately worth the extra effort to baffle Jeff, better cooling will never be a negative thing, will give much better protection in case of a lean run.

Air always takes the easiest route, so even with the big clear opening that the Corsair has, most of the air will go round the heads rather than through the fins, baffling forces it through them like you say.

Easy enough to make a paper template, then cut it from light ply, or for non modellers like Dave, you can just buy one :)

Thanks Jon, I’ve decided to baffle. Like I posted before, you would think you would get plenty enough air in their without but as I’m aware from my pump background, what you think will happen certainly doesn’t always and there are a lot of things to consider which are not always obvious to the novice.

That's nothing Jeff compared with what he usually gets...

Back to the issue, I believe the rule of thumb was that the air flow exit size at least twice the air flow in but not always so easy in practice. Scale models the worst I think because you just cannot hack holes where needed or it ruin it's looks.
