Fantastic work Pete, I will stand up a few more of those well-deserved beers when the job is finished.
I will put in a lot more turbine practice on the Hunter and Boomer before I commit myself to flying the pride of the fleet.
I think I will also de-risk my new Rx and the Gyro on a different model before installing.
I am thinking of fitting 2 off lightweight LiFE batteries as the Futaba R7018SB Rx has powersafe dual inputs (i.e it doesn't need a power-box switch or equivalent). Will also go lightweight on turbine battery unless some ballast is needed for C.of.G.

Servos - interesting that top end products can be faulty , people using cheaper servos on quality airframes have taken some flack on this forum.
Colin.

I'm not going to start a servo war debate so will not mention what make. I will say that I have used the certain manufacturer for years with no problems, and any item which is made in the numbers that servos are you will occasionally have a duff batch. At least when you buy a quality product the customer support is excellent.

Guns taped in position and ready to glue to the fuzz . I've decided not to glue them yet as I can see myself knocking them off whilst working on the fuzz. Next up is fitting the canopy locating pins and canopy latch, also the locating fittings to the fuzz and canopy.

Another really tricky job where you only get one chance to get it right. The canopy hatch side alignment tabs consist of 3 per side half moon f/glass discs. The discs are installed one at a time in the canopy and the position transferred to the fuzz flange and cut with a dremel cutting disc and the slot is cleaned up with perma - grit FXT 103 for a perfect fit. Once all six have been done we have a perfect fitting canopy. A slot is cut on the rear top of the canopy with a1/6" carbide cutter for the canopy latch. Fit the canopy and mark the point with some black paint and transfer mark on rear fuzz flange. Drill a 1/6"
hole and open up with a a kneedle file for a perfect fit, job done.
