I think I know when I'm defeated, and it's best to bow out gracefully ;)

All the best, Gromit (I'm sure JRI shortened it to 'Grom' today, but then again he was so cold he might not have been able to properly form his words)

Oh come on Gromit, you mustn't give in yet, that would encourage Jon to stop looking for the photographic evidence and there is always the possibility that my poor old eyes deceived me! It was a very long time ago.

The Bond movie during the filming of which the disputed event took place was Golden Eye which was released on November 24th 1995 and the production can't have been i progress later than during 1994 - twenty three years ago - so what are the chances of an old bloke like me having a good enough memory to be so sure of my facts?

Plenty of ammo there for you.

David I'm assuming in the manoeuvring of your fingers over the keys your attention slipped and you forgot that there is a 'n' in 'in'? ;)

Thanks for the ammo, Gromit

On the 18th of May my Atlas would have been one year old, alas, this evening it fell out of the sky as I came in to land.

I figure I stalled it, I'd almost completed the final turn, which was quite relaxed, when the right wing dropped significantly, I didn't have the height or skill to get out of it.

What seemed rather apt was that I was listening to the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy in the car on my way up to the field:

“What to do if you find yourself stuck in a crack in the ground underneath a giant boulder you can't move, with no hope of rescue. Consider how lucky you are that life has been good to you so far. Alternatively, if life hasn't been good to you so far, which given your current circumstances seems more likely, consider how lucky you are that it won't be troubling you much longer.”

That's a shame...and not repairable this time by the looks of things.

I've not looked too closely, but I think any repair work would be getting for the same amount of work to build new, the wing has snapped, the nose crumpled and the back broken.

I did have the good fortune to 'land' on the boundary between two fields so didn't have to go hunting in the middle of a field for it, there is a silver lining to everything.

Fishing is looking like an attractive hobby at the moment.
