Just for the fun of it.......

Here is Pepsi with Pennzoil's wing. I was actually working on the Pennzoil wing but needed somewhere to park it whilst cutting new covering film. (Limited space)

Pennzoil wing shows the new Oleos that David T bored out for me. They worked yesterday. :)

After 24 hours of drying it was time to check on the cowl paint job. Glossy blue.

Oh Oh! WTF. Well, that is a brilliant match of Oracover Blue 52 and RC Colours 52. In fact I probably could have done a better job using Halford's Car Acrylic and got a near match. :( Grrrr.

I reckon that Corsair blue covering is nearer Ghiants RC colour blue.

Maybe I should've gone for something less colourful.

I need a fuel T piece preferably metal for 1/8th bore tubing for the Pepsi. Surfed around but they are either a ridiculous price for something hidden away or out of stock. Alternatives please? Local?

Going back to the terrible colour match :( Looking out of my window at my wife's Fiesta the colour is nearly the same as the Oracover blue 52. I took a covered hatch over to her car and it is a damn lot closer than RC Colors's attempt at matching. It is Ford Deep Impact Blue but is metallic. Considering whether to rub down cowl, etch prime and repaint with a Halford's aerosol..... Rubbing that enamel off would take some doing or maybe use a chemical to lift it?

Progressed quite a way now with another wet windy day. :( Better stay in a get a bit more done.

Tank finally located and plumbed in. Ignition module fitted. Battery tray created from ply which also serves to secure back of tank. Receiver temporarily installed until I can connect everything up and rebind, setting fail safes. Opto Kill switch fitted. Throttle servo is a Hitec mini mg under battery tray on custom bracket. (as per Pennzoil)

Canopy (painted last week) now temporarily fitted pending detailing inside cockpit, although I have gave it a main instrument panel (scaled down photo of a DH Chipmunk MK22 and also need to locate a suitable 1/5th scale "idiot" to pilot the thing. ;) Transfers placed on fuselage.
