Excellent small drill selection

Just noticed this in the ALDI special buys. Excellent for achieving slop free servo arm to clevis clearance.

I am surprised you even considered Aldi tools Kevin considering your excellence in precision tooling or is it the Yorkshire save a penny element kicking in? :lol:

For slop free clevis to servo arm I warm up on the gas ring a spare piece of push rod the same dimensions as the clevis pin (usually 2mm) and push it through the arm. Perfect fit!

Kevin, did you look closely at the picture of the drills? Either they used a mirror to make it look as if there were twice as many drills or otherwise it seems that half of them have a left hand spiral.

Good spot, did you see this review? What would be the point of reverse rotation drills??

The only answer I can think of to your question

is that you will find the point at the opposite end of the drill from the end by which you hold it in the drill chuck. This also applies to conventional right hand spiral drills.

I spotted that review/comment too about left hand spirals. Maybe they were designed for people like me who are left-handed. :silly:

No i don't need them - Ive got mm. fraction, Number and letter drills of pretty much every combination EXCEPT no left hand helix so maybe i should add these to my collection. (no i didn't read the detail)

However talking to some new members, they don't have any drills as evidenced when assembling ARTF's so a means of gradually opening servo arm holes without spending fortune might be useful.

Only tool you need, if it still doesnt fit you just need a bigger one :silly:

Called in at my local Aldi to stock up with left hand drills but the shelf was bare - an assistant said they all sold very quickly ( or were they recalled as faulty ! )
