Phil, from experience the best trick ever is to get a vibro etcher, stick it on the end of the sheared bolt , press it in firmly off centre, allow it to vibrate into the bolt then move it around anti clockwise as if you were undoing it and hey presto sheared bolt comes out. I have done this many many times at work and have had 100% success rate even on the tightest sheared bolts

All sorted now :woohoo:

There was just a little thread out of the rear of the hub. Using my wife's tweezers very carefully managed to get some thread showing on the drive face. I then tapped the edge of the bolts with a fine pin punch to rotate them enough to get my fingers on them. Lucky they spin in n out easily.;) Thanks to all your suggestions and help.

Going over to Probuild tomorrow for a Miracle Ally spinner. Probuild are out of stock of Menz 23 x 8 but they do have 22x10 which I notice the IMAC boys use. Any reason for this on a DLE55, down 1 inch dia and up the pitch by 2?

Phil, I think you are imagining things again!!! , I dont know anybody in IMAC that is using that prop

There are two reasons for using smaller dia and more pitch

1)Smaller dia means lower tip speed which means the prop is quieter
2) More pitch gives you a constant speed and is supposed to help with down line braking

Maybe I am mistaken but I am sure a certain member I saw with an SBach fitted with a DLE55 or maybe a DA50 used a 22. Oh well, will have to shop around the "net" for a 23x8. A popular size apparently....:(

Phil go for 10" or 12" pitch, 8" pitch is like driving in 1st gear

I may try a tiny blob of epoxy on the bolt and a piece of 2mm control rod. hoping I can get at least the bolts proud of the prop driver to get a grip on. The bolts use to spin in easily enough just with fingers. Worth a try, last option drilling.

Yes i'm on hols and just obtained first full internet access - I'll be back Mon 23rd and should be able to remove the bolts 4 U !

Thanks Kevin and enjoy your holiday. I managed to wind the bolts out myself. Albeit it cost me some extra expense, a new spinner and prop. Although my wife thinks that the need of these items is questionable.
