I usually get a launch from someone if available but managed to launch successfully three times yesterday on my own using full power and under arm release which was no problem

Has anyone watched the video by Robert Petrincic re the MIG 15? The cheat holes in the fuselage are easy to do and seem to improve the performance. I thought the Russians were lacking numbers at the Fete, so this morning I ordered a MIG so that I can help the Comrades at the EDF weekend.

There's a link to the video on page 4 of this thread - I've not decided on cheat holes yet, I might try it without the canopy first to see what might be gained.

Your under arm launches did look to be effective with the added benefit of being close to the ground already if it all goes wrong and only a short walk to pick up the pieces :)

No! Sabre Brian. It is just that not all the MIG lot turned up. Or you want a slow jet?

Had a few flights with the Sabre today. Tried the underarm launch which ended in miserable failure. Over arm launches were succesfull but needed full power and a hefty chuck due to zero wind. Flying without the canopy fitted didn't seem to make any difference, which was really suprising considering how much differrence it made when running it across the lawn at home, so I'm going to hang fire on the cheat holes for now.

Other than that it flew reasonably well but I need to be on my toes to stay ahead of it

As has been suggested earlier Alan, an underarm launch means less height before colliding with terra firma so may have to master that method with little or no angle. Me too!

Did you have a lot of up elevator dialed in for the launch?
