FrSKY Taranis X9E was created by Brian
If anyone with a Taranis X9E wants to convert the gimbals to the M9 Hall Effect type, I have a pair of adapter rings to enable the M9 gimbal to fit the X9E case. Let me know and I'll get them to you. They are FOC as I no longer need them.

I'm sure that either Chris or I will take them off your hands. Chris already has M9 gimbals installed but did not use adapter plates. I'll switch to M9 gimbals at some time in the future.

Hi Brian, could you let me know where you got the adaptor rings from? Many thanks, Chris

'Morning Chris, the item is made by RC Studio in Czechoslovakia. their web page is www.rcstudio.cz . Its only now that I realised I should have put out a notice about buying the spacers. Would have saved lots of postage.

Thanks Brian,

That was where I was going to order from too, I'd hoped you'd found some where closer, I could not justify 15,76€ postage for a 0.79€ item :pinch:

I put the gimbals in at the end of November without the adaptor rings, and the looks don't bother me, but if they come up at a reasonable price it would be nice to finish off the job.

Thanks again, Chris

Hi Chris, they must've hiked up their postage rates! I wonder if someone in the Club could print some rings? I can't remember who took over Frank's 3D printer.
The spacer rings from RC Studio are 3D printed. The rings are flanged to stop them falling out, and all they do is fill the gap. I wonder if 1/8"(3mm) tape could be wound round the location "boss" on the gimbal, painted black before assembly. Fiddly but fun!

You're right Brian, I've just tried again it's now 15,43€ P&P :( I'd be curious to know how you got a different postage rate, you must have contacts and persuasion on your side ;)

Anyway, it's only an aesthetic thing so I'm happy to leave it as is.

I'll check out what I paid for the spacers Chris. In the meantime, don't eat biscuits while you're flying with the x9E, don't want crumbs in the gaps.
