Highlights of the Wimborne Model Aero Club Annual Scale Day Event. Weather was warm but overcast in the morning with a light crosswind. By late morning and into the afternoon blue skies arrived but the crosswind became much stronger. Crosswinds kept pilots on their toes which meant longer landings but we had no incidents, except some Oops! Tip overs. A Corsair was unable to retract gear unfortunately.
Lots of various aircraft of all sizes, electric, glow, petrol, turbine and warbirds are always popular on these events. Unfortunately Jersey Model Aero Club were unable to join us this year.
Flightline was completely filled from end to end. Elevenses was coffee and cream scones, lunch from the BBQ and rounded up by ice creams early afternoon. The brilliant day ended by Awards for Best Scale Model and Pilot's Choice, the latter voted by pilots only on the Best Flight.
