    General Safety Rules for RC Clubs

    1. If arriving at the field first, set up the frequency boards and set up the pilot box
    2. Check the model structure and linkages when assembling your model at the beginning of each session
    3. Insert club card into the appropriate slot in one of the frequency boards
    4. Check all controls for correct orientation
    5. Range check at the start of each new session
    6. Position the model facing away from the pits and other people when running up the engine.
    7. Always use a model restraint, either mechanical or human, when starting engines
    8. Check for loose items near the propeller and behind powerful models, before starting your engines, eg cables, tools, neckstrap
    9. Get behind the engine immediately after starting, only remove the glow starter and run up the engine from behind the propeller.

    As part of the British Model Flying Association’s (B.M.F.A.) Initiative, the NATIONAL MODEL FLIGHTFEST, the Wimborne MAC is hosting an open day on SATURDAY 25TH MAY at its magnificent model aero flying site located at Cashmoor near Blandford (directions of how to get to the flying field and further information about the event is detailed below.

    So, put aside your ‘X’ boxes and game consoles, try your hand at flying a radio controlled model aircraft in the skies above Cashmoor! After all, flying model aircraft was a passion of super stars like the late great F1 champion Ayrton Senna. So come and check out this amazing hobby.

     

    As members of the BMFA (British Model Flying Association) we are holding an OPEN DAY at our Cashmoor Field on the 25th May from 10.30abmfa logo 100pxm

    This is part of the BMFA's National Flying Month where model flying clubs all over the country will offer to all ages and genders a chance to watch and particpate in safe and legal model flying.

    This National Model Flying Month event by the Wimborne Model Aero Club is at Cashmoor on the A354 (nearest postcode DT11 8DN).

    Entrance Gate is on A354,  500 metres from the Cashmoor Inn if travelling towards Salisbury

    From 10.30am to 4.00pm. It will be signposted on the day. 

    Bring a picnic.. Toilet facilities.  Families welcome. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
