Drove up to Morris Mini Motors to get my Saito sorted yesterday. After ground running the motor in the model to demonstrate erratic running, He identified insufficient clearance between the crankcase and carb causing heat transfer. I removed the engine for his workshop action. Then refitted it for extensive ground testing and tuning. It took approx 3 hours work and I’m now happy to fly the model. Certainly no shortage of customer support.
Some may think why bother with his conversion but after a tour of his workshop, examining the raw conversion parts and questioning his redesign I’m even more convinced its the way to go but as always the proof (or not) will reveal itself.
