Domestics have just interrupted work but now progressed the aileron.

L/E is wrapped in 1/64" ply so this was glued to the lower spar, steamed and then rolled in this half tube.

Due to my clumsiness - damage to the T/E needed to be trimmed and capped with 3/32" spruce

The T/E of the aileron fairing also proved weak so this is wrapped in ultra thin carbon tape.

Ive modified the hinging design with my preferred pin in tube design which are more scale.

The kit design for aileron operation was this pasolini plate and quick link which had too much backlash and a very short moment arm. Also I am mechanically slaving the upper wing ailerons so a more substantial design was required.

Created this light ply box to hold this heavy duty ball link which is secured by a cross screw. -( and no backlash )

In all fairness, the first wing (the first raw build ive done for some time ) was a steep skill renewal for me but the second aileron and wing went much quicker so by the time no 4 is complete, it'll be a proper builder. (in my opinion)

Starting to resemble something that eventually will fly. B) Nice work Kevin. By the time you have got to wing 4 you'll be thinking "Why did I not do it this way earlier!" Myself I have said this many times with multiple items that had to be made up identical. :lol:

For the first wing L/E sheeting i just formed it around the bathroom towel rail but had some difficulty fixing. Subsequently shaped them on a tighter radius allowing them to fit like a glove dry. Now they can be fixed without pins.

Definitely getting the hang of this old building lark !
