Wouldn't piano wire be better than carbon Pete, I would be worried carbon might wear over time? Small diameter snake outer would be a good option for the bearing though.

Thanks guy's, I'm open to all suggestions frank is bringing over tomorrow a selection of tubing etc so I will have a look at that.
I'm really enjoying the provost, it's a real builder's model which I love. The scale detail shown on the drawing is awesome and I want to reflect this in the finished model

That's speedy work there, very impressive. Did you use aliphatic to butt join those balsa skins? I would have thought regular pva would be difficult to sand smooth.

Modelfixings sell a range of small bearings, you might find something of use there if you go that route.

Keep those pics coming :)

I just remember having a nightmare sanding balsa glued with pva, and I cant remember which brand it was, evo stik resin w or deluxe materials or some such but, having switched to Titebond I found sanding much easier.

Packed some samples for you to asses tomorrow Pete.

But looking at the last photos you posted, Piano wire & tube will be good for the twiddly bits at the end go the wing but the slowy downy bits will need some form of captive pin for which I have a cunning plan
